3 1/2 cups of
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon of instant yeast
1 1/2 cups of warm water
1 teaspoon of honey
3 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Warm up the water. It has to feel warm to the touch. In a bowl or big cup add the warm water, honey and yeast. Leave it for about 5 to 7 minutes to the side.
In another bowl add the flour, the water mix, salt and olive oil. Combine ingredients until a soft dough forms. Allow it to sit (covered with plastic wrap at room temperature) for 4 up to 24 hours.
Dump dough onto a floured counter and gently pull sides downward for just a few seconds until a round, smooth loaf is formed.
Warm up the oven at 450° F WITH the Dutch oven (lid on too). Take the Dutch oven on the counter very carefully. Place the loaf onto a parchment sheet and into a Dutch oven pot. Bake at 450° F for 30 minutes with lid on, and then 15 additional minutes with the lid off.
Loaf should be golden brown and crispy on top.
Allow to cool 10-15 minutes so the crust will soften slightly and crackle for a delicious finish! #artisanbread
